About the artist
Sylvie Langsdorf-Willoughby is a Maryland-based fine artist and illustrator. Ever since she was a child she has been observing and drawing from what she sees, from people interacting around her, to the plants and creatures of the forest.
Her work is influenced by surrealism, fantastic realism, and visionary art, as these genres bring the viewer into a dimension that is both in the same realm as ours well as a strikingly separate entity.
In a playful manner, her art expresses serious spiritual issues, involving material addictions, obsessive thinking, and emotional conflict. She shows the viewer a world in which every part of the human experience is spiritual and where there is no fear of the unknown.
Sylvie studies illustration at the Maryland Institute College of Art and has studied at the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art.
